Resource and Referral Program
Addresses the language, cultural and systemic barriers that are prevalent among immigrant families and limited English speakers in accessing and navigating the following areas
Health and medical
Immigration information and referrals
Marriage and divorce
We are the only program in the Yampa Valley that provides assistance to non-English speaking community members in the areas of medical, employment, housing, legal and other basic needs decreasing the workload of other human service agencies in the area. In 2016, we received Recognition from the U.S Department of Justice to provide limited immigration services. We enhance human service agencies’ capacity to serve their immigrant constituency through language support and cultural training. We also extend bilingual troubleshooting, advocacy, mediation, education and case management services to immigrant constituents ranging from newborns to adults who have not attained proficiency in English.
Integration and Translation
We provide professional interpreters for our clients to meet their needs. In 2016, we began 24/7 emergency on call interpreters for local lawenforcement and crisis response agencies. For example, in a normal month we get 20 translation requests. In April of 2020, we received 97.
